Gates of Olympus Super Scatter is a Greek-Mythology-themed slot that takes place at the summit of Mount Olympus, the home of the gods. Having played the game extensively, our opinion is that the design is good, but not great. We really like the detail of the Parthenon on top of the clouds in the background, but the game board and symbol design lacks the imagination of other slots.
That being said, a lot of effort has gone into the game’s animation. The way that symbols are highlighted and disappear off the board looks great, and the Big Win animations with gold coins spraying across the screen really makes it feel like you’ve hit the jackpot. Unfortunately, as good as these animations are, we found that they can make the game lag, which was disappointing.
We also have mixed opinions on the game’s audio design. The sound effects add a visceral feel to the game, especially when symbols are zapped off the board, and the music rising during the free spins round is a great touch. However, the backing track is just too quiet during the main game, we had to turn the volume all the way up to be able to hear it, which then made the sound effects way too loud.
