Legacy of Egypt House Review

Play’n GO releases the ancient Egyptian pantheon’s power once more with Legacy of Egypt, a five-reel, and thirty pay-line online video slots game! Legacy of Egypt joins Doom of Egypt, Ankh of Anubis, and many more in Play’n GO’s Egyptian-themed video slots games. Legacy of Egypt contains familiar features such as Wilds, Scatters, and free spins, all stylized to fit the game’s look. It’s quite easy to understand why so many developers are enthralled with ancient Egyptian aesthetics, seeing how Egyptian royalties have an air of wealth and magnificence, quite a perfect atmosphere and feel for online video slot games. See if you have the favor of the gods of Egypt and the Queen of the Nile and bask in the ancient relics that Legacy of Egypt has to offer!

Legacy of Egypt is an online video slot with five reels and thirty paylines with a minimum and maximum bet amount of $0.30 and $90. The game’s user interface uses the same elements present in most of Play’n GO’s other slots with clear indicators for the player’s current balance, winnings, and bet amount. The game features Wilds in the form of a scarab that replaces any of the base symbols opening windows of opportunities for players, Scatters in the form of pyramids that award free spins, ranging from three to 20.

A random multiplier will also be displayed on top of the slot during these Free Spin rounds. These multipliers vary from 2x, 3x, 5x, 8x, and 10x. Free spins can also retrigger indefinitely as long as players are lucky enough to land more Scatters, meaning there’s no limit to how many free spins a player can get. Although Wilds and Scatters are hard to come by, only popping up every now and then or not at all. Lastly, the game has the AutoPlay feature available to take over, keeping the reels spinning for a set amount of time.

Tips on Betting

Operating with a five-reel and twenty pay-line setup, Legacy of Egypt has wagering options for casual and high-rollers alike. Legacy of Egypt has a couple of player-submitted tips and tricks. Many players think that the base game without triggering the bonus features is quite monotonous, making players rely on getting free spins or watching your balance go down slowly. The game is all about aligning three or more pyramid symbols to activate the Scatter feature that awards the player free spins. The Free Spin round is the key bonus in getting the better features in the game, namely the multipliers. Lastly, in a more obvious vein, players also advised proper pacing, betting, and knowing when to drop the game before committing too much money.

Special Game Features

Although having an aforementioned weak base game, Play’n GO did their best with the game’s bonus features, letting the bonuses pull the game’s weight and boost its entertainment value, they didn’t do a great job with these features. Still, these features serve their purpose of gluing players into the screen quite well. These features come in the form of:

  1. Wilds – The game features Wilds in the form of a scarab beetle; these Wild symbols replace any one symbol used in the game except for the Scatter symbol, giving players better odds. These symbols also play a big part in Free Spin rounds, being the means to get multipliers and even more free spins.

  1. Scatter – The Scatter feature in the game takes the form of a pyramid, aligning three of these symbols award players with a random amount of free spins ranging from three spins up to a maximum of twenty. These free spins can also trigger more Scatters indefinitely.

  1. Wheel of Gods – This feature comes alive during Free Spin rounds, landing two or more of the scarab symbols gives players another batch of free spins with added modifiers to it.

Game Design

As mentioned before, Legacy of Egypt isn’t the first Egyptian themed slot from industry veterans Play’n GO, the developers have been known for top-notch designs and graphics in their other Egyptianesque games like the previously mentioned Doom of Egypt and Ankh of Anubis. Legacy of Egypt got the same treatment with the game receiving great artistry shown in the background art, with a painterly rendition of a scenic palace. The colors used by the game exude an aura of wealth and splendor perfect for the game’s nature.

The game’s artistic direction clearly has a lot of attention to detail, from the hieroglyphics found in the background, to the stylized depictions of the different deities of the Egyptian pantheon as well as the other traditional icons of the place like the pyramids, and the scarab beetle. The symbols used in the game are stylized traditional initials of card faces J, Q, K, and A for Jack, Queen, King, and Ace, The symbols players are after are the ones of Cleopatra, Sekhmet, Sobek, and Anubis members of the Egyptian pantheon of gods. The game might seem a little too heavy on the eyes but, because of the overall theme’s coherence, every aspect of the game’s design complements each other, guiding the player’s eyes to the important parts of the game: the slots and the reels.

In conclusion, although quite reliant on its features to be enjoyable, Legacy of Egypt is still one of Play’n GO’s better online video slot games, with a decent RTP, affordable betting options, above-average art assets, and a catchy soundtrack.

The game is what many players would call a Scatter-dive, meaning that players need to sink their money deep to fish out a Scatter and gain free spins. The game could’ve done a lot better in terms of adding variance to its bonus features. Right now, all of the features are heavily tied to free spins which, inherently, isn’t a bad thing. The game, however, could’ve been a whole lot more fun and lively with additional bonuses. Nonetheless, Play’n GO still proves to be a viable casino gaming software with this Egyptian-theme video slot game.
