Irish players have plenty of choice online. Ireland does not issue its own online casino licences yet, so the casinos that welcome Irish players are licensed abroad. They run accounts in euros and carry thousands of slots, live dealer tables and welcome offers, and several of the best-known names run a dedicated Irish site.

No casino on this page holds an Irish casino licence, because none exists yet. The chart shows where the listed casinos are licensed instead. If something goes wrong, you complain to the casino first and then to the regulator named on its card.

Some of the brands here, bet365, William Hill, NetBet, TonyBet and Kwiff among them, also appear on the Irish regulator’s register with a remote betting licence. That licence covers their sports betting. It does not cover casino games, which Ireland has not started licensing.

Ireland replaced its old betting laws with the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 and set up a single regulator, the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI), in March 2025. The GRAI is bringing the new system in by stages. Betting came first: applications opened in February 2026 and the first remote betting licences took effect on 1 July 2026. The GRAI licence register listed 35 licensees when we read it in October 2026, all of them for betting.

Online casino games are a later stage. The GRAI has said that applications for gaming licences will open during 2027 and 2028, and the part of the Act that requires a licence to offer games is not in force yet. Until that changes, there is no Irish-licensed online casino to choose, which is why the casinos Irish players use are licensed in other countries.

Payout speed is the thing players ask us about most. The chart shows the payout times the listed casinos state, and each card gives the casino’s own figure. E-wallets are usually the quickest route, while cards and bank transfers take longer. Your first cash-out also waits for the identity check, so send your documents early.

One Irish rule to know: operators licensed by the GRAI may not take gambling payments by credit card, or from an e-wallet topped up with one. A debit card avoids the question everywhere. Irish tax law says that winnings from betting, lotteries, sweepstakes and games with prizes are not chargeable gains, so they are not subject to capital gains tax. The 2024 Act provides for a National Gambling Exclusion Register that will let you block yourself from every licensed online operator in one step. It is not running yet.
