A pushed or void leg drops out of the parlay and the rest pays at the remaining legs' odds. The chance shown uses the bookmaker's own implied odds, margin included, so the true chance is a little higher.

How a parlay pays

Every leg multiplies the one before: the payout grows fast, and so does the bookmaker's margin.

A -110 line is a coin flip priced with a 4.55% margin. The fair price of a coin flip is +100, so each leg pays 95.5% of fair, and the parlay pays that share raised to the number of legs.

Questions

How are parlay odds calculated?

Convert every leg to decimal odds and multiply them. Three legs at -110 (1.909 each) give 1.909 × 1.909 × 1.909 = 6.96, which is +596 in American odds: a 10 stake pays 69.58.

What happens if a parlay leg pushes?

At most sportsbooks a pushed, void or cancelled leg drops out and the parlay is settled on the remaining legs; a two-leg parlay with one push becomes a single. Check your book’s house rules — a few treat a push differently in some bet types.

What does a 2-team parlay pay at -110?

Two legs at -110 multiply to 3.645 decimal, or +264: a 100 stake returns about 364.

Are parlays a good bet?

They pay big because every leg has to win, but the bookmaker’s margin compounds leg by leg. On -110 lines (a 4.55% margin each), a 3-leg parlay pays 87.0% of the fair price and a 6-leg one 75.6%.

What is the difference between a parlay and an accumulator?

None — “parlay” is the American name, “accumulator” (acca) the British one. For UK bet types such as doubles, trebles, Yankees and Lucky 15s, use our bet calculator.
