No-Vig Fair Odds Calculator
Enter the odds on every side of a market to strip out the bookmaker's margin: see the vig, the fair probability of each outcome and the no-vig fair odds to compare with any other price.
| Outcome | Bookmaker odds | Implied | Fair chance | Fair odds | Fair decimal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Side A | -110 | 52.38% | 50.00% | +100 | 2.000 |
| Side B | -110 | 52.38% | 50.00% | +100 | 2.000 |
Fair odds divide each side's implied chance by the total, the standard proportional method. Compare them with another bookmaker's price to spot value.
The vig on common lines
Two-way lines, with the fair price of each side once the margin is removed.
| Line | Vig (hold) | Fair chance, side 1 | Fair odds, side 1 | Fair odds, side 2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| -110 / -110 | 4.55% | 50.0% | +100 | +100 |
| -105 / -115 | 4.50% | 48.9% | +104 | -104 |
| +110 / -130 | 3.98% | 45.7% | +119 | -119 |
| +150 / -170 | 2.88% | 38.8% | +157 | -157 |
| -200 / +170 | 3.57% | 64.3% | -180 | +180 |
| +300 / -400 | 4.76% | 23.8% | +320 | -320 |
A lower hold means a cheaper market. Reduced-juice lines such as -105 / -105 cut the margin to 2.38%.
Questions
What is the vig in betting?
The vig (vigorish, or juice) is the bookmaker's margin, built into the odds. On a -110 / -110 line both sides imply 52.38%, adding up to 104.76%: the extra 4.76% is the overround, and the book keeps 4.55% of the money on a balanced line.
How do you calculate no-vig odds?
Turn each side into its implied probability (1 ÷ decimal odds), add them up, and divide each side by the total so they sum to 100%. The fair odds are 1 ÷ that fair probability. This is the proportional method most bettors use.
What is a fair line?
The price with the margin taken out — what the odds would be if the bookmaker charged nothing. Betting at odds longer than the fair line (from a sharp book’s no-vig price) is a positive expected-value bet.
What is the difference between hold and overround?
Overround is how far the implied chances exceed 100% (4.76% on -110/-110). Hold is the share of all stakes the bookmaker expects to keep when money is balanced (4.55% on the same line): hold = 1 − 1 ÷ (1 + overround).
Does it work for three-way markets?
Yes: switch to 3-way for soccer 1X2 (home, draw, away) or any market with three outcomes. The same proportional method spreads the margin across all three.
