Arbitrage Betting Calculator

Enter the best odds you can find for every outcome and your total stake: the calculator splits it so every outcome pays the same, and shows the guaranteed profit — or how far the market is from an arb.

Round stakes can give arbs away to bookmakers, and odds move, limits bite and some books void or restrict “arbers”. Place the larger or slower-moving side first.

How to spot and size an arb

1. Add up the implied chances

For each outcome take the best price on offer and work out 1 ÷ decimal odds. If the total is under 100%, the market is an arb; the further under, the bigger the profit.

2. Split the stake

Stake each outcome in proportion to its implied chance, so every result pays the same. The calculator does this and shows the return for each outcome.

3. Place the risky side first

Prices move and limits bite. Back the outcome most likely to shorten, or at the book most likely to limit you, before the other side.

Watch the costs

Arb margins are usually small, so exchange commission, payment fees and currency conversion can wipe them out. Include them before you commit.

Questions

How does arbitrage betting work?

When different bookmakers disagree enough on a market, you can back every outcome at the best price and profit whatever happens. Add the implied chances (1 ÷ decimal odds): below 100% there is an arb. With 2.10 at one book and 2.05 at another on a two-way market, the chances add to 96.40%, and 100 staked as 49.40 + 50.60 returns 103.73 either way.

How do you calculate arbitrage stakes?

Each outcome gets a share of the total stake in proportion to its implied chance: stake = total × (1 ÷ odds) ÷ (sum of all 1 ÷ odds). Every outcome then pays the same amount, total ÷ that sum.

Is arbitrage betting legal?

Betting at licensed sportsbooks is legal where sports betting is, and arbing is not a crime. But many sportsbooks’ terms allow them to limit stakes, restrict or close accounts they see arbing, so profitable arbers often find their accounts limited.

What are the risks of arbitrage betting?

Odds can move before you place the second bet, stake limits can stop you getting the full amount on, and obvious pricing errors (“palps”) are sometimes voided. Place the bet most likely to move or be limited first, and keep stakes looking natural.

What is a sure bet?

Another name for an arbitrage opportunity: a combination of bets across bookmakers that returns a profit whatever the result.
