The Gold Blitz slot game uses a 6×4 game board, making it larger than the average video slot game. Rather than set paylines, Gold Blitz counts symbols on adjacent reels to make its winning combos. Simply put, it doesn’t matter where on the reel the matching symbols are, as long as those reels are next to each other.
This results in a total of 4,096 ways to win, which we think is one of the game’s best features. Having so many ways to win means that you regularly find winning combos, keeping you engaged for longer.

The minimum bet available when playing Gold Blitz is £0.20 per spin, while the maximum bet is £50. We like that the slot has a wide betting range, as it means that both high rollers and low-budget players can enjoy the game.
Gold Blitz RTP and Volatility
Gold Blitz has a high volatility rating, which means that its wins are less frequent, but higher value when they occur. Despite the high volatility, the slot has an RTP rate of 96%, which puts it in line with the industry average for a modern video slot.
That being said, we’ve found that most high variance games have RTP rates of 94% or lower, so the fact that Gold Blitz reaches 96% is a big plus in its favour.

One of the game’s standout features is its selection of bonus mechanics. We really like that the game has a solid mix of extra features in the base game and dedicated bonus rounds, as the variety keeps the game exciting.

Wild Symbols
One of the features available in the base game is the Wild symbol, which can substitute for any of the standard paying symbols. We always prefer games with Wild symbols, as they make it much easier to find winning combos – especially with so many ways to win.
Cash Collect
As well as its standard paying symbols, Gold Blitz features Cash and Jackpot prize symbols that can appear anywhere on the board. These symbols work with the Lightning Cash Collect symbol, which can appear on reels 1 or 6.
If you find a Cash Collect symbol on your board, all of the prize symbols on the board are collected and added to your payout.
Jackpots
Gold Blitz features three jackpot prizes, which can be won during the Cash Collect feature:
- Minor – 25x your bet
- Major – 250x your bet
- Mega – 2,500x your bet
We really like this feature, as it’s rare for a slot game to allow you to win its jackpot prize in the base game.

If you find 3 or more Scatter symbols, you unlock your choice of free spins bonus rounds:
- 3 Scatters – 1x payout + 8 FS or 2 Gold Blitz FS
- 4 Scatters – 2x payout + 12 FS or 3 Gold Blitz FS
- 5 Scatters – 3x payout + 20 FS or 5 Gold Blitz FS
- 6 Scatters – 5x payout + 30 FS or 7 Gold Blitz FS
Once you trigger the bonus, you’re given the option to choose the Standard Free Spins or Gold Blitz Free Spins. The “standard” feature offers more free spins, but the Gold Blitz round can offer a higher winning potential.
Being able to choose your bonus is a great feature and gives you more agency over how you want to play the game.
Standard Free Spins
In this bonus game, Wild symbols can only appear on reels 2, 3, or 4. If they’re used to make a winning combination, they’re given a multiplier of either 2x, 3x, or 5x, increasing the value of your payout.

Gold Blitz
In this round, the standard game board is replaced by the special Golden Blitz board; these reels only have Instant Win prizes or blank spaces. You’re guaranteed a Cash Collect symbol on each spin, which means that you’ll instantly collect all prize symbols that you find on the board.
Best of all, there is a chance of finding 2 Cash Collect symbols on the board. When this happens, all prize symbols are collected twice, doubling your payout.
The jackpot prize symbols can appear in this bonus feature, giving you a great chance of taking home the biggest prize.
Gold Blitz Slot Design
While the gameplay was great, we weren’t huge fans of the slot’s design. The blue background with the outline of some arrows isn’t the most imaginative thing they could have thought of, and doesn’t really add to the game’s theme. The game’s symbols suffer from a similar issue; we really like the unique icons like the electric dollar sign and piles of coins, but the reliance on the generic playing card icons for the lower-paying symbols seems lazy.
That being said, we really like what the slot has done with its in-game animations. The way the symbols crackle when you find a winning combo looks fantastic, and the spurt of coins when you find a big win is a lot of fun to see.
We also like the game’s metal soundtrack, which sets the tone for the game’s high intensity and high volatility. Unfortunately, the audio design is let down by a couple of sound effects. The initial spin sound and the sound of the reels locking into place are what I’d expect from an early 2000s slot game – they just sound poorly compressed and fuzzy, which is a total turn-off.

To sum up our thoughts after completing our Gold Blitz slot review, we believe that it’s a great option for online slot fans. We loved the variety of bonus features on offer as well as the 4,096 ways to win, which made the game a lot of fun to play. While the game is somewhat let down by its basic design, the animations and soundtrack more than make up for it.
