Zeus Slot Review
Zeus by SG digital is one of the many slots based on Zeus, the God of Sky and Lighting from Ancient Greek mythology. So if you are ready for an adventure back in time to Ancient Greece, come right along.
Zeus is by no means a modern slot machine. In fact, it is the first in a series from SG digital. However, it should by no means be discarded; this classic slot just proves that SG Digital is indeed a top class slot providing company. Its classic design and graphics combined with a return to player percentage of 95.97% mean that it can still compete with the best of modern slots.
As with most slots, line payouts occur when at least three symbols land on adjacent reels starting from the far left. The minimum you can bet is 0.1, while the maximum you can bet is topped at 1000 credits. This makes this game a perfect fit for both new players and high rollers.
Additional Game Features
Landing three or more bonus feature symbols (hand holding a lightning bolt) across the reels trigger the free spins feature. The number of free spins won depends on the number of bonus feature symbols you landed during that specific spin. Five bonus feature symbols will award you with a staggering 100 free spins. Four bonus feature symbols amount to 25 free spins. The minimum of three bonus feature symbols will trigger 10 free spins. Once the free spins feature has been triggered, a “start feature” button will appear on the screen. During this feature an alternate set of reels will be used. However, the symbols and winning symbol combinations are similar to the main game. During the bonus game, sets of stacked wilds may occasionally appear on the reels.
These stacked wilds will stay put while the rest oft the reels keep on spinning. They could then form winning combinations that might otherwise not have been possible, leading to unexpected but welcome payouts. Consequently, most combinations will lead to a winning combination. If stacked wilds appear on all reels, covering the entire slot, a jackpot multiplier of x15000 applies.
After the bonus round, players have the option of gambling their winnings. During this optional feature, cards appear on the screen face down. The player has to guess if the card is red or black. Guess correctly and you could double your earnings. Guess incorrectly and you could lose your winnings. The gamble limit is set at five times.
The slot also features the popular wild. The Olympus symbol represents the wild in this slot. The wild can replace all symbols except for the scatter, which is responsible for triggering the free spins feature. The scatter is represented by the lightning bolt. At least three scatters are needed in order to trigger the bonus round.
Players used to more modern slot designs will quickly notice that Zeus is a bit older. It has a very classic and simplistic design. While one might expect a bit more of a modern slot, for its time it is quite good and the symbols really keep with the theme. All symbols has at least some relation to Zeus or Ancient Greece. The symbols include a green wreath, gold coin, silver coin, helmet, harp vase, Pegasus, Zeus himself, hand holding a lightning bolt and the Olympus symbol.
The reels occupy most of your screen. On the left-hand side of the screen you will find the settings button. However, here you can only choose whether or not you want the sound to be on or off. On the right side of the screen is an arrow. This arrow allows you to set the more useful game settings.
When you click on the arrow three icons will appear. The first icon opens the all-important pay table. The paytable reflects the current bet configuration, which means that as you change your bet the pay table will also change to reflect your winnings based on the new bet. The second icon allows you to set how much you want to bet, as well as across how many lines. Zeus has 30 pay lines and players can choose exactly how many pay lines they want to play on. Any number of pay lines, ranging from 1 to 30, is valid.
The third and last icon allows you to set autoplay. Here you can choose between 10, 50, 100 and 200 auto spins. Other autoplay options include stopping when you have lost a certain amount of money ranging from 15.00, 75.00, 150.00 or 300.00. You can also stop when you win over a certain amount (7.50, 15.00, 30.00 or never) on a single spin. During the bonus feature, the graphics change ever so slightly in the sense that the reels are a bit different and the symbols have different colour patterns.
Zeus has proved that old does not mean out of style. Greek themed online slots will be online for a long time to come, and if anything, Zeus has set the precedent. It can still compete with the modern slots in terms of gameplay and even graphics (if you are looking for a more classic visual). Thirty paylines to choose from ensures that you get your money’s worth, and then some if you manage to land a bonus round or wild. Zeus is definitely a classic and one for the books.
