House of the Dragon is a branded video slot from Blueprint Gaming, dated 24 September 2026 on the studio's own game page. It is built around a cash-collection engine: Cash Prize symbols land on the reels, Collect Symbols gather them, and a dragon called Syrax hands out modifiers along the way. The headline numbers are a 94% RTP on the best of four published versions, a rating of four out of five on Blueprint's own volatility meter, a maximum win of 3,000x the bet and 20 lines on a 5x4 grid. The free demo above runs the studio's demo build with play money only, so it is a sensible way to see how the collect loop feels before you decide whether the maths suits you. Casinofy is for players aged 18+.

How House of the Dragon Plays

The layout is conventional: five reels, four rows and 20 lines. Blueprint lists stakes from £0.10 to £1,000.00 per spin and adds that currency conversion may apply, so the range you see at a casino may be expressed differently.

The core loop is simple to describe. Cash Prize symbols carry values, and when a Collect Symbol lands alongside them those values are paid out. Coins collected during the base game or the bonus round can awaken Syrax, who then applies one of several modifiers. A Dragon's Wheel symbol landing with a Collect Symbol spins a wheel that can add further Cash Prizes, and reaching the top of that wheel triggers the free-spins round, Dance of the Dragons Spins. Blueprint names Red Hot Catch as the game's family tree, which tells you this is a themed treatment of an existing collect-style design rather than a new engine, and it describes the target audience as money-collect and feature-upgrade players.

What the studio does not publish matters as much here. Blueprint does not state the values Cash Prize symbols can carry, the prizes on the Dragon's Wheel, how many Bonus Scatter symbols trigger the bonus round or how many spins it starts with.

Features Explained

Syrax Strike

Syrax Strike is the base-game spice. Modifiers can trigger on any spin from collecting coins, in the base game or during Dance of the Dragons Spins. Blueprint lists four:

  • Bonus Boostadds bonus scatter symbols to the reels and guarantees Dance of the Dragons Spins.
  • Syrax's Richesadds Cash Prize and Collect Symbols to the reels for a win.
  • Wild Fireadds Wild symbols to reels 2, 3 and 4.
  • Syrax's Breathfollows a losing spin: all symbols are removed and new ones cascade in for a guaranteed win.

For a session, these modifiers smooth the base game rather than transform it. A guaranteed win from Syrax's Riches or Syrax's Breath is not a guaranteed large win, and Blueprint does not publish how often Syrax Strike triggers, so it is impossible to say how much of the return they account for.

Dragon's Wheel

The wheel is the bridge between the base game and the bonus. It needs a Collect Symbol on the same spin, it can award more Cash Prizes, and reaching the top triggers the free spins.

Dance of the Dragons Spins and the Dragon Egg enhancements

The bonus round always starts with at least one Dragon Egg enhancement active, with the chance to trigger more, and each additional enhancement adds 5 more spins when it activates. The enhancements Blueprint describes are:

  • Dragon's Chesta Cash Prize symbol active on all reels that accumulates every Cash Prize value in view before the Collect Symbol takes it.
  • Dragon's Fireonly Cash Prize, Bonus Scatter, Collect and blank symbols appear, so regular line symbols are stripped out.
  • Fire and Bloodeach time the Collect feature activates, a random multiplier from x2 to x10 can be applied to every Cash Prize symbol in view.
  • Dragon's Hoardeach time the Collect feature is active, Cash Prize symbols in view are boosted up to 5x.
  • Dragon's Lockactive Collect Symbols expand to cover the reel, Cash Prize, Collect and Bonus Scatter symbols lock, and the reels respin until nothing new locks.

This is where the game's value is concentrated. Stacking enhancements is the only path described toward the top of the payout range, because the multipliers in Fire and Blood and the boosts in Dragon's Hoard act on Cash Prizes that Dragon's Fire and Dragon's Lock have already crowded onto the screen.

Reading the Maths

The RTP is the weak point. The best version returns 94%, a house edge of 6%, and Blueprint also lists versions at 93%, 92% and 90%. At the bottom version the house edge rises to 10%, and the studio's page does not say which version a given casino runs.

Against other recent and Blueprint titles reviewed on Casinofy, 94% sits below Cop the Lot at 95.06% and well below 3 Lucky Monkeys Hold & Win at 96.98% and Gates of Olympus 2500 at 96.51%. It is above Top Cat at 92.48% and Worms Reloaded at 92.66%, both also from Blueprint.

Blueprint rates the game four out of five on its own volatility meter, without attaching a word label to it. That places it towards the swingy end of the studio's scale: expect longer quiet stretches between meaningful wins, with much of the return held back for the bonus round. Public game data puts the hit rate at 20%, roughly one winning spin in 5, a figure Blueprint does not publish. Read together, they describe a game that pays something fairly often but mostly small amounts, and leans on stacked Dragon Egg enhancements for anything meaningful. A bankroll needs room for dry spells at that volatility, and the lower RTP drains it faster over time, so a smaller stake relative to your budget is the sensible setting.

The 3,000x maximum win is a modest cap. For a game Blueprint places at four out of five on volatility, that is a low reward for the swings, and it means the ceiling is low compared with games such as 3 Lucky Monkeys Hold & Win, which lists x5000. Bonus trigger frequency, Cash Prize values and the Dragon's Wheel prizes are not published, so there is no honest way to say how often the game approaches its cap.

Who It Suits, and Who Should Skip It

House of the Dragon suits players who like collect mechanics and accept a bumpy ride in exchange for regular small events: coins awakening Syrax, Collect Symbols sweeping up Cash Prizes and a bonus that builds through stacked enhancements. You can compare it with other September titles on our new slots page.

Players who care most about long-run value should skip it, or at least check which RTP version the casino offers before staking real money. At 94% at best and 90% at worst, it gives away more than Gates of Olympus 2500 at 96.51% or 3 Lucky Monkeys Hold & Win at 96.98%. Players chasing very large multipliers should also look elsewhere, because the 3,000x cap is low. If you like the studio's style but want a better return, our Blueprint Gaming games hub lists titles such as Cop the Lot with a higher published RTP.

If you do play for real money, do so only at a casino licensed in the country where you live, set a budget before you start and treat every spin as entertainment, never as a way to earn.

Verdict

House of the Dragon is a competent collect slot with a busy feature set: Syrax Strike modifiers in the base game and a bonus round whose Dragon Egg enhancements genuinely interact. The problem is the maths around it. A top RTP of 94%, versions down to 90%, a 3,000x ceiling and no published bonus frequency make it hard to recommend on value, and Blueprint itself lists Red Hot Catch as the design it descends from. It is playable, but with Blueprint rating its volatility four out of five, the swings are not matched by the payout ceiling, and the RTP is a concrete defect, which is why the score sits in the flawed-but-playable band.
