Wild Dojo Strike is a 20-line, 5x4 video slot from Bullshark Games, released on 30 April 2024 and running on Hacksaw Gaming's OpenRGS platform, which is how the studio builds and distributes its catalogue. The headline figures are a default RTP of 96.27%, a hit frequency of 35.33%, a maximum win of 12,000x the stake and a volatility rating of 3 out of 5 on the studio's own five-point scale. The demo above is the studio's free-play build, loaded with a play-money balance, so you can watch the Feature Tracker behave over a few hundred spins without staking anything. It is worth doing: this is a game whose character lives in a mechanic that fires far more often than its bonus round does.

One housekeeping note before the maths. The studio's sheet lists approvals for Malta, Curacao, Denmark, Latvia, Spain, the Netherlands, Ontario, Romania, Greece, Georgia, Croatia and Portugal. It is not available to UK players, and is also absent from Sweden, Germany, Italy, Colombia, Buenos Aires Province and Brazil. As always, 18+ only.

How the game plays

The layout is conventional: five reels, four rows, 20 fixed paylines paying left to right. There are no cascades and no ways-pays expansion, so the base arithmetic is the oldest arithmetic in slots — line up matching symbols from reel one and get paid. What Bullshark has layered on top is the Feature Tracker, and it changes the texture of every spin.

At the start of each spin the Feature Tracker selects either one colour or all three. If a wild of a selected colour lands, that colour's feature activates and a respin is triggered. Where more than one colour is live, only one wild colour counts towards awarding the respin. The practical effect is that you are not waiting on a scatter count to make something happen; you are waiting on a two-condition coincidence that resolves on nearly every spin, one way or the other. That gives the base game an unusual amount of forward motion for a payline slot.

The three wild features

  • Orange Wild — Sticky WildsThe orange wild locks in place and triggers a respin. Each further Orange Wild during the respin also sticks and extends the sequence. Sticky wilds raise the hit rate inside the sequence rather than the ceiling; they are a consistency mechanic.
  • Purple Wild — Expanding WildsThe purple wild expands to cover a full reel for the original spin and one respin, with each new Purple Wild expanding and extending. A full reel of wilds on a 20-line, 5x4 grid is a broad effect — it touches every line passing through that reel — so purple is the biggest contributor to mid-sized wins.
  • Red Wild — Multiplier WildsEach Red Wild adds a random value to a Global Multiplier that applies to the original spin and the respins that follow. Values run 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 25x, 50x and 100x. Red Wilds do not stick; they bank their value and vanish.

The important structural detail is the overlap. If orange is already running and the Tracker then selects purple or red, a second feature can stack on top — but only another wild of the original colour extends the respin chain. That is the route to the upper tail: a reel or two of expanded purple wilds caught under a Global Multiplier that has climbed through a couple of red additions. Note too that respins are not triggered during free spins, so the bonus round behaves differently from the base game rather than simply being the base game repeated.

Reading the maths

A 35.33% hit rate is high. Roughly one spin in 2.8 returns something, and against the Bullshark catalogue that puts Wild Dojo Strike near the top — only Piggy Cluster Hunt (38.34%) and Junkyard Kings (37.14%) beat it, both of them cluster games where high hit rates are structurally cheap. Among the studio's payline titles it is in a different league to Jawsome Pirates (20.88%) or Pickle Bandits (23.78%). Pair that with volatility of 3 out of 5 and you get a game that drains a balance slowly and in small increments, which is exactly what the demo will show you.

The bonus frequency is where expectations need adjusting. In the base game, any bonus arrives once every 318.9 spins, with Wild Dojo Spins at 1 in 325.5 and Extreme Wild Dojo Spins at 1 in 15,708.3. That first number is genuinely infrequent for a game in this volatility band — several hundred spins of wild features and small line hits before the free spins round appears. The Extreme version is, realistically, a lottery; at 1 in 15,708.3 most players will never see it organically. The design intent is clear enough: the respin mechanic is the entertainment, and the free spins are the occasional punctuation.

If the bonus buys are offered at your casino, the numbers shift sharply. BonusHunt FeatureSpins brings any bonus to 1 in 39.9, Wild Dojo Spins to 1 in 42.1 and Extreme Wild Dojo Spins to 1 in 757. The feature RTPs are quoted at 96.33% for BonusHunt FeatureSpins, 96.27% for FeatureSpins, 96.33% for Wild Dojo Spins and 96.29% for Extreme Wild Dojo Spins — all within a few hundredths of the base figure, which is fair pricing and better than some buy menus manage.

On RTP itself: 96.27% is the default, but the game also ships in a 94.29% build, and the operator chooses which to run. That is a two-point gap and it matters far more than any feature preference. Check the game's info screen at your casino before you stake anything; if it reads 94.29%, play something else. You can see how the rest of the studio's library is configured on our Bullshark Games hub.

Max win is 12,000x, consistent with much of the catalogue. Getting there requires the multiplier chain to run deep, and on a 20-line grid that is a long-odds proposition. Bankroll-wise, treat this as a grinder: a 35.33% hit rate at volatility 3 means your session length is driven by the base game, and a stake sized for 400-500 spins gives you a realistic shot at seeing the free spins round at least once.

How it compares

Pickle Bandits96.27%23.78%12,000x5x4 paylines
Jawsome Pirates96.28%20.88%12,000x5x4 paylines

Merlin's Mania is the closest match on paper — near-identical hit rate, same volatility band, same ceiling — but it uses an all-scatter grid, so the moment-to-moment feel is different. Against Bullshark's own payline games, Wild Dojo Strike is the forgiving option by a wide margin.

Who it suits and who should skip it

It suits players who want frequent small returns and a visible mechanic between bonus rounds, and anyone who finds 20%-hit-rate payline slots too silent. It suits bonus-buy players well, given the honest feature RTPs. It does not suit players chasing the ceiling on a modest budget — 12,000x on a 20-line grid with a 1 in 15,708.3 Extreme trigger is a very thin tail — and it does not suit anyone who measures a session by how often the free spins land, because 1 in 318.9 will feel sparse.

Verdict

Wild Dojo Strike is a well-constructed, maths-honest payline slot whose Feature Tracker does real work in keeping a 35.33% hit rate from feeling repetitive. The buy menu is priced fairly and the three wild types interact in a way that gives the upper tail genuine structure rather than being a bolt-on multiplier. Two things hold it back from a higher score: the 94.29% alternative build, which puts the burden of due diligence on the player, and a base-game bonus frequency of 1 in 318.9 that sits awkwardly against a volatility-3 presentation. Know both before you start and this is a solid, sustainable grinder.

Wild Dojo Strike pros & cons

Pros
  • High 35.33% hit rate — among the best of Bullshark's payline titles and well above Jawsome Pirates or Pickle Bandits
  • Feature Tracker gives the base game constant activity rather than dead spins between bonus triggers
  • Bonus buy RTPs (96.27%-96.33%) are in line with the base game, which is fair pricing
  • Three distinct wild types that stack, giving the 12,000x tail a coherent structure
Cons
  • A 94.29% RTP version exists and operators choose which to run — always check the info screen
  • Base-game bonus at 1 in 318.9 is infrequent for a volatility-3 game
  • Extreme Wild Dojo Spins at 1 in 15,708.3 is effectively unreachable without the buy
  • Not available to UK players, and absent from Sweden, Germany, Italy and Brazil
