Dogecoin is an open-source, peer-to-peer digital currency. Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer created it as a joke, and it launched on 6 December 2013. Its software is adapted from Bitcoin Core and other coins, and like Bitcoin it is secured by miners using proof of work, in Dogecoin’s case with the Scrypt algorithm.
Two design choices matter at a casino. The network aims for a new block every minute, so a transfer does not wait long for its first confirmation. And there is no supply cap: every block creates 10,000 new DOGE, a fixed amount with no end date.
Dogecoin targets one block a minute, and a transfer is confirmed when it is included in a block. The project’s documentation sets no number of confirmations after which a payment counts as final. If a cashier says it credits deposits after a certain number of confirmations, that is the casino’s rule, not Dogecoin’s.
The network fee depends on the size of the transaction in bytes, not on the amount you send, and it goes to the miner who includes the transaction in a block. The developers’ recommended fee, the default in Dogecoin Core as of October 2026, is 0.01 DOGE per kilobyte, charged on the exact size. Their own example is a 192-byte transaction paying 0.00192 DOGE. Nodes will relay a transaction that pays as little as a tenth of that rate.
Very small payments are discouraged. An output under 0.01 DOGE needs an extra 0.01 DOGE in fees, and one under 0.001 DOGE is rejected. A casino or exchange can also add its own charge on top of the network fee, so read the cashier before you confirm.
A withdrawal has two stages. The casino reviews and approves your request, then sends the coins over the network. The second stage moves at Dogecoin’s one-minute pace. The first is the casino’s own process, and it usually decides how long you wait, particularly if an identity check is outstanding.
Look at the withdrawal side of the cashier before you deposit. Check that DOGE is offered for payouts as well as deposits, and note the minimum withdrawal and any fee. When you cash out, give an address that starts with D from a wallet you control, and paste it instead of typing it.

The licence, not the coin, decides what protection you have. On 4 October 2026, 51 of the 344 casinos reviewed on this site listed Dogecoin, 45 of them also paid withdrawals in it, and 34 held a Curaçao licence.
The Gambling Commission does not license casinos that take crypto deposits, and it describes crypto casinos that can be reached from Great Britain as unlicensed and illegal. That offence is the operator’s. For you it means a Dogecoin casino sits outside the British system, and GAMSTOP, which only blocks sites run by businesses licensed in Great Britain, does not cover it.
A casino licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority needs the regulator’s approval before it accepts cryptocurrency.

Dogecoin is pseudonymous, not anonymous. A transfer carries no name, but the project’s own site says every transaction on the blockchain is public, and anyone who knows an address can see its history. It also warns that addresses may one day be linked to their owners.
The casino adds its own checks. Expect to be asked for identity documents at some point, often before a withdrawal is paid. What you avoid by paying in DOGE is giving card or bank details to the casino.
